Magic. For centuries humans have been fantasizing about this mysterious power. Some view it as something out of this world. Some view it as nothing but deception. But for Shichimiya Satone, magic is something that brings happiness to others.

Satone is half an angel and half a devil. She calls herself “Sophia Ring SP Saturn VII” and claims to be a magical devil girl. Her long blue scarf and her wand share a bat motif. Her signature laugh, “Ni-hahahahahaha!”, sounds more like an evil overlord than anything else. Yet the true magic she holds is her cheerfulness. A pink heart-shaped sticker on her left cheek, she always wears a smile that cheers up the people around her. She cares deeply for her friends, helping and comforting them whenever they face any trouble.

Behind her beaming smile, however, lie conflicting emotions that she does not know how to deal with. Satone believes that as long as someone does not say “goodbye” to something, they are never parted. And when she is reunited with her former “combat partner”, she faces the ultimate dilemma: to confirm her feelings, or to continue as a friend and give up on her hidden desires? She does not know the perfect answer, and perhaps there is no such answer at all.

Magic is strong, but it is nowhere omnipotent. Satone can only pray that magic can heal her messily throbbing heart.
